Botox (botulinum toxin) is a drug that temporarily reduces muscle tension. This relaxes the muscles that cause wrinkles, giving the skin a smoother, fresher appearance while preserving your natural facial expressions.

Botox can also be used for  medical purposes , such as:

• excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis)

• teeth grinding (bruxism)

• migraine

The treatment will not be performed if you:

• are younger than 18 years old

• are pregnant or breastfeeding

• had an allergic reaction to botulinum toxin

• using certain medications or antibiotics

• has a neurological disorder

In some situations, caution is necessary, for example if you are using blood thinners or if you have recently had a Botox treatment.

After the treatment:

• sit or stand upright for the first hour

• avoid the first 24 hours:
  
  

• intensive sports

• touching or massaging the treated area

• alcohol consumption

• makeup

The effect is usually visible within two weeks and lasts for about three months .
For medical applications, such as those for excessive sweating or teeth grinding, the results may take a little longer.
